Secret Missions

Everyone at the party is quietly working on something.

Everyone gets three secret missions to pull off without being caught. Ordinary conversation immediately becomes very suspicious.

Time

Your mission

Get Jake to say I am completely fine out loud.

Every card in the pack is built around them.

How to play

  1. 1

    Deal three each

Three secret missions per person. Nobody sees anyone else's.

  2. 2

    Pull them off unnoticed

Work them into the party. Get spotted and that one is dead.

  3. 3

    Everyone comes clean

At the deadline, you confess. Most missions landed wins.

One round

One round, start to finish

Flip one and see what you would have been carrying around all day.

You get three. Nobody sees anyone else's.

Why this one runs the whole party

01

It runs in the background

No table, no rounds, no stopping the party to play a game. It is the party.

02

The paranoia is the game

Once everyone knows missions are live, every compliment sounds like a set-up.

03

The confession round is the payoff

A whole party of quiet scheming cashes out in one go, and half of it nobody saw coming.

What you print

  • Mission cards, three eachone per player
  • Completion tracker1 page
  • Rules card1

Prints on plain A4 or Letter. Black and white is fine. Cut along the guides and you are ready.

Is this one for your group?

Perfect for

  • A long party with space to move around
  • Groups who already tease each other kindly
  • Anyone who hates being made to sit down and play a game
  • Big groups, it scales past 20 without breaking
  • A guest of honour who enjoys being part of the chaos

Maybe not if

  • ×A seated dinner where nobody moves. The missions need traffic.
  • ×A group who have never met. It wants existing history.
  • ×Anyone who wants a scoreboard filling up all through the party. This pays out once at the end.

Questions

When should we start it?

Hand the cards out first thing. It needs runway. Start it late and half the missions never get a chance to land.

What if I get caught?

That mission is dead, no score. You still have the other two, and denying everything loudly is well within the rules.

Does the guest of honour play?

They can, but most groups make them the target instead. Half the missions are about getting a reaction out of them, so they spend the party being worked on without knowing it.

Do we have to stop the party to play?

That is the entire point of it. There is no round, no turn, no table. You deal the cards once and the game runs underneath everything else you were already doing.

How many people do we need?

Four is enough. It gets better with more, because there are more people to use as unwitting props.

What do we need besides the pack?

A pen. That is it.
