Privacy Notice

Tradie Assistant Digital operates BanterBox from Victoria, Australia. In this notice, "we", "us" and "our" mean Tradie Assistant Digital.

BanterBox lets an organiser create personalised printable party games, invite optional contributors, purchase a pack and return to its game files. This notice applies whenever we handle personal information through those services, including information about a person who does not have a BanterBox account.

This notice should be read with our Terms of Service.

Organisers. If you provide information about somebody else, you must have their permission or another proper basis to do so. Only provide material that is appropriate for the intended group to see in a party game. Do not provide sensitive information such as health information, sexual history, financial information, immigration status, religious or political beliefs, or criminal history.

Contributors. Your name and answers are used as source material for the organiser's pack. The organiser can see that you contributed and can see your contributor name. BanterBox does not present your individual raw answers to the organiser through the customer contribution summary, but relevant details can appear in the finished games.

People a pack is about. You can contact us about information concerning you even if you did not create an account or purchase the pack. Depending on the applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or delete that information.

• Organiser and account information: your name, email address, account creation date, sign-in records and authentication information.
• Pack and event information: the name of the person or people the pack is about, the occasion, event information, group details and organiser intake answers.
• Contributor information: a contributor's name, answers, consent record and submission time.
• Preferences and consent records: game selections, pack tier, tone, off-limits choices and records of required permissions and digital delivery consent.
• Generated and delivery records: generated game content, pack status, PDF locations, delivery status and support requests.
• Payment records: payment status, purchase selections and payment processor identifiers. We do not receive or store your full card number.
• Service and security information: server and security logs, request timestamps, rate-limiting records and aggregated audience-analytics information used to operate, protect and understand the service.
• Support correspondence: messages and information you send when you ask us for help or make a privacy request.

Please do not provide sensitive information. We do not use your private pack content for advertising or public marketing without permission.

We collect information directly from organisers when they create and manage a pack, from contributors when they submit material through a contribution link, and from customers when they contact us, sign in or purchase.

We also receive information about other people from organisers and contributors. This can include names, relationships, interests, habits, stories, places, catchphrases and other details intended to personalise a party game. The person described in a pack may therefore not have given that information to BanterBox directly.

We also create service information when BanterBox is used, such as authentication, security, pack-status and delivery records, and the functional browser-storage information described below.

We use personal information to create and check games, provide account access, deliver and store purchased packs, process payments, send service emails, respond to support requests, protect BanterBox and meet legal obligations.

We use your email to provide services for your pack, such as sign-in links, contribution updates, payment and game-ready updates. We do not use these service emails for marketing.

Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, the main bases we rely on are set out below. The appropriate basis can vary with the information and your location.

We use specialist AI processing services to help create and check personalised game content. Information relevant to creating and checking a game may be sent to those services for that purpose.

We limit this processing to information needed for the game-creation task and use business-facing services rather than publishing private pack material. Our service providers process information on our behalf under their applicable business terms and data-protection arrangements.

AI-assisted processing is used to create entertainment content. BanterBox does not use it to make decisions about a person that produce legal, employment, credit, medical or similarly significant effects.

We disclose only the information reasonably needed for providers to perform their services. The categories of providers used in the current BanterBox service are:

• AI processing providers: help create and check personalised game content.
• Cloud hosting and storage providers: host BanterBox and store account, pack, contribution and generated-file information.
• Payment processors: process purchases and payment-related fraud checks. BanterBox does not receive or store full card numbers.
• Transactional communication providers: send sign-in links, purchase updates, delivery messages and other service emails.
• Technical operations providers: support background processing, security and other infrastructure needed to create and deliver the service.
• Audience analytics providers: provide aggregated information about website usage so we can understand and improve BanterBox.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

BanterBox is operated from Australia, and personal information may be processed in Australia and in other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy protections can differ between countries. Where data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the transfer must be covered by an applicable lawful mechanism. Contact us if you want information about the transfer arrangements relevant to your data.

• Pack records and generated content are kept while needed to provide continued access to a purchased pack, unless deletion is requested or a different period is required by law.
• Account information is kept while the account is active and as reasonably required for administration, security and legal obligations.
• Payment and transaction records may be kept where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal obligations.
• Security and rate-limiting records are kept only as reasonably needed to protect the service and investigate misuse.
• Support correspondence may be kept as reasonably necessary to deal with the request and maintain business records.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls, signed authentication tokens and expiring magic links. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

BanterBox uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep signed-in account and pack access working. We do not use that cookie for advertising.

While you create a pack, BanterBox stores your in-progress intake in your browser's local storage so your answers are not lost as you move through the form. That browser record can include personalisation details such as age, group information, interests, stories, preferences and off-limits choices. It stays on that browser until the create flow replaces or resets it, or you clear your browser storage.

BanterBox also stores a small unfinished-pack shortcut in local storage so the Create page can offer Continue on the same browser. It contains the pack identifier, the guest name you entered and the page to continue from.

On the review page, BanterBox may temporarily store your in-progress pack tier and game selections in local storage until those choices are saved successfully. That review record does not store your email address or consent choices. These browser-storage records are not used for advertising.

We use privacy-focused audience analytics to understand how BanterBox is being used, including page views and general information such as traffic source, browser, device type and broad location. We use these statistics to understand the service and improve the customer experience.

We also record a small number of anonymous product events, such as a pack being started or a checkout opening, without names, email addresses or pack links.

Our audience analytics are designed not to use analytics cookies or follow people across unrelated websites. Pack-specific URLs are reduced before analytics events are sent so private pack identifiers are not included in the analytics record.

If you turn audience analytics off, BanterBox stores that preference in this browser so it remains off when you return. The preference contains no account, pack or game content and is removed if you turn audience analytics back on.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to access personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where we rely on consent for a particular use, you can withdraw that consent for future processing. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.

These rights can apply to a person described in a pack even if that person was not the purchaser. We may ask for enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant pack.

If you are in Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. If EU or EEA data-protection law applies to you, you may complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe a breach occurred. If UK data-protection law applies to you, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. You can also contact us first so we have an opportunity to address the issue.

We may update this notice when the service or legal requirements change. We will publish the current version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide an appropriate additional notice.
